At the Rotary Club of Admiralty, we’re thrilled to be part of youth – empowering events. Recently, our president joined the judging panel for student water purification system presentations at the 7th Greater Bay Area STEAM Excellence Award.
This contest aims to boost awareness of Creative Information Technology in education and offer international opportunities for youth. Reaching over 4,000 students from nursery to tertiary levels, its impact is significant.
The president was astounded by the students. They tackled diverse water – related challenges, showing great passion for the environment and determination to find solutions.
Some projects blended innovative ideas with tech well. Yet, for filter designs, more data on effectiveness would be beneficial. Creativity shone with unique ideas like using pineapple leaf fibers for filtering. While not all projects were groundbreaking, that’s part of learning.
Most students clearly presented their work, but a bit more storytelling could make it even more engaging.
To the students, keep exploring and thinking outside the box. Your ideas could solve major water issues. The Rotary Club of Admiralty is rooting for you, and we can’t wait to see what you create next. This event aligns with Rotary International’s mission of community development.
