Hey there, Rotary enthusiasts and friends! We just had the most incredible 36th anniversary dinner, and we can’t wait to share all the exciting details with you.
Over 100 guests filled the venue, creating an electric atmosphere. It was like a big, happy family reunion! But what really made the night shine were the amazing guests of honor. We had some truly distinguished Olympic Games and Asian Games champions and athletes gracing our event. Five sports stars in particular stole the show: Kong Man Wai, Vivian MH,Wong Kam Po SBS MH,Yu Kwok Leung BBS MH,and Tam Chi Ching, Karinne. They shared their personal experiences, stories of hard work, dedication, and triumph. It was so inspiring to hear how they overcame challenges to reach the pinnacle of their sports. These tales were not just about sports; they were about the power of perseverance, which is so in line with the Rotary spirit.
Our president also took the stage to express heartfelt gratitude. Tokens of thanks were presented to our medical and nursing advisors, the Hong Kong Pedorthic Association, and representatives from the participating district health centers for their effort and support on the Diabetic Foot Community Care Programme. Their contributions are the backbone of our community – focused initiatives, and it was wonderful to see them being recognized.
And speaking of community initiatives, the president had some great news to share. The Diabetic Foot Community Care Programme has been a huge success. So far, it has assessed 635 diabetic patients and provided 273 pairs of insoles to high – risk groups across 8 district health centers. This is a real game – changer for those in need, and it shows how our club is making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
But that’s not all! PP Albert Law had an exciting announcement. The Say No to Drug (SNTD) program has achieved a significant milestone. It has obtained the certificate under the United Nations General Protocol certification program on some Sustainable Development Goals. This means that SNTD is in line with some of the SDGs advocated by the UN. It’s a clear indication that our efforts are not only local but have a global impact.
All in all, the 36th anniversary dinner was a night to remember. It was a celebration of our achievements, a showcase of our community spirit, and a glimpse into the bright future of the Rotary Club of Admiralty. We hope this story inspires more people to join our Rotary family and be a part of the amazing work we do. Let’s keep making a difference together!
