Rotary International District 3450 Installation on 12 July 2025
On 12 July 2025, a significant event took place within the Rotary International District 3450 – the installation of new leadership within the Rotary International District 3450. This occasion marked a transition in the clubs’ leadership. Our Immediate Past President Dr Heston Kwong formally invested the sash to the new President, SK To.
The ceremony was not only a moment of handover but also a celebration of the clubs’ past achievements and a look forward to future initiatives. As the sash was passed, it symbolized the transfer of responsibilities, vision, and the club’s commitment to service within the community and on a global scale, in line with the Rotary International’s principles.
Following the installation, the District Governor for 2025 – 26 took the stage to deliver an important speech. In the speech, the District Governor Cassy Cheng emphasized the importance of continued community service. She pointed out that over the past years, Rotary clubs within District 3450 have made remarkable contributions to various social causes. These range from youth development programs to other initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life in Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, and Guangdong Province, areas that District 3450 encompasses.
The District Governor also stressed the need for clubs to adapt to the changing social and global landscape. With the ongoing challenges such as social distancing measures in some areas due to various situations, the Rotary clubs should find innovative ways to carry out their service projects.
Furthermore, the District Governor encouraged all members to actively participate in Rotary Foundation initiatives. Rotary International District 3450 has been a great supporter of the Rotary Foundation with yearly contributions of over US $1 million. By contributing and getting involved in foundation projects, members can make a greater impact on a global scale, whether it’s in promoting peace, providing clean water, or supporting education in underprivileged regions.
The installation of President SK To and the District Governor’s speech have set a positive tone for the Rotary Club of Admiralty in the coming year. With a new leader at the helm and clear guidance from the district level, the club is expected to continue its long – standing tradition of making a difference in the community and beyond.
